Summer Plus Program in New York for Juniors, 13-17 years old, 2-7 weeks 
(June-August)

Come improve your English or world language  skills, discover your passions, learn about the USA and enjoy the best summer of your life!

Designed for teenagers aged 13 to 17, Summer Plus! blends English classes with optional electives in Film, Show Choir, Broadway, Art & Design, Fashion, Leadership, American Sports, creative workshops, memorable excursions and activities, and safe, comfortable accommodations at a prestigious college campus in New York!

Dates, Courses & Prices 2017

To book your place on a program, the non-refundable application fee of $140 USD must be paid.  Fees can be paid in USD or by credit card in any currency upon request.

General English Class 
The course emphasizes conversational skills in the classroom reinforced by staff-led workshops and field trips in the NYC and New Rochelle areas.
Classes are taught by highly qualified, experienced native-speaking teachers. In addition to their often impressive ESL credentials, many of the teachers have interesting backgrounds in acting, art, music, dance, sports, finance, film, law and information technology. The fascinating mix of creative people makes the school a dynamic place, where people of all ages, interests and professional backgrounds meet and interact.

Seven Course Choices 

Our school used its widely respected, ground-breaking Arts plus English programs as a model for the Summer plus! program.

Select one of the following plus! options and it will be included in your English program. You will spend ten classes per week working on your specialized area and after lunch, you will participate in the related field trips and workshops as well as wonderful sightseeing trips and fun outings. Will it be a visit to the SONY Wonder Tech Lab, a fashion show, the United Nations, a baseball game...? It's up to you!

What is Summer Plus! New York? 
It’s an academic and experiential  program that gives students the opportunity to improve their English speaking skills, while immersing themselves in one of five exciting elective courses topics. Summer Plus! New York is for  students who love the outdoors and want to meet new international friends in a vibrant city!

Accommodation & Meals

Meals & accommodation are included in the program cost.

All residence halls are supervised by Resident Advisors who live on each floor at a ratio of 15 students to 1 leader. Students are assigned to leader by gender and floor.

Iona College

Summer plus! program residents will be welcomed to Iona College’s best-equipped residence hall, South Hall, featuring single-gender suites. Each suite houses a maximum of 10 people and contains two double rooms, two triple rooms, a living room, a kitchenette, and two bathrooms.

  • Co-ed dormitory hall with separate male and female suites 
  • Each suite contains four bedrooms (double and triple beds) with a living room, kitchen and two bathrooms 
  • WiFi available across campus 
  • 24-hour campus security 
  • Game room and cable TV lounge with DVD

The Summer plus! activities and excursions use New York as a catalyst for learning and fun. Students will practice their English in different situations, explore this global cultural center, make life-long friendships and experience memorable times.

Student activities are planned with an eye toward our students' diverse interests in art, music, sports, design, food, architecture and American culture! Additionally, all activities are monitored by Rennert staff 24 hours a day. Safety is very important to us!
