  • To make a daily bath or shower available
  • To provide students with all meals (which may include a packed lunch on some days)
  • To provide students with a door key so that they can let themselves in and out
  • To treat students as family guests and generally behave in a friendly and hospitable manner
  • To ensure that students are at home at times agreed by the school or by the student's parents

Tarragona, Arrival & Activities

Our handpicked group leaders organise an exciting and varied leisure programme to keep you entertained after class and at the weekend.

About Tarragona
  • The city of Tarraco was the oldest Roman settlement in Spain and, in those days, a much more important city than nearby Barcelona.
  • The well-preserved ruins of the Roman city, including the amphitheatre and aqueduct (in the photo, above), mean that Tarragona today (pop. 130,000) is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • It's a busy, lively city, but at the same time a small, safe one, with great beaches nearby and attractions like the amazing Port Aventura and Aquopolis theme parks a 10-minute drive away.
  • Tarragona will also be host city for the 2017 Mediterranean Games
  • A real cool place for a summer holiday!
  • Note that students should arrange arrival flights for the Sunday before their course starts and departure flights for the Saturday after their course finishes
  • If it is impossible to arrange transport to coincide with arrival and departure times, please contact us to check that alternative arrangements can be made. Extra nights are usually available on payment of a supplement
  • Free airport transfer to and from Barcelona is included
Highlights of the full activities programme include
  • Dance classes (flamenco and salsa)
  • Trip to Barcelona (100 km) to see the Park Güell and the Sagrada Familia
  • Relax on the beach
  • Relive Roman history
  • Feel exhilarated in Port Aventura
  • Splash down in Aquopolis
  • Help make a human castle
These activities (and many more) vary from week to week.
