Methodology
The emphasis of classroom activities is therefore the development of the students' abilities to speak and understand spoken Spanish. For this reason, classes are conducted entirely in Spanish and students are given plenty of opportunity to practise the sort of language they are likely to need outside the classroom. We don't just want our students to "know" Spanish, we want them to be able to use it! Due attention is also paid to grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing skills, and a wide variety of materials is used, including published materials from many different sources as well as materials which have been written by our own teachers.

Optional accommodation during your Spanish Course in Palma

The accommodation can be arranged on request in a Spanish host family, or shared apartments.

All accommodation has been carefully selected and is regularly monitored by our staff. As Palma is a relatively small city, most accommodation is less than 20 minutes from the school on foot or by public transport.

Host Family, from 200 EUR a week

You’ll learn firsthand how people live in Palma and get to know your host family in their own home. This option will give you an insight into local culture and let you put your Spanish into practice. Our families offer accommodation in single rooms, with or without a private bathroom, with breakfast only or half board. All of our host families live in flats, as there are practically no individual houses in Palma. Apartment buildings (both old and  modern) are rarely more than 8 floors high. A typical flat will have 3 or 4 bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room and living room. Some flats have terraces; almost all of them have balconies.

It is difficult to describe a typical family as there is such a variety; some are young couples, some have children still living at home, others, perhaps the majority, have grown-up children who no longer live at home

Shared Apartment, from 175 EUR a week

We have a number of furnished apartments for rent that students can share with other students.  The normal minimum period for renting an apartment is 2 weeks. All apartments are centrally located and are therefore between 10-20 minutes from the school on foot or by public transport. Students normally have their own individual bedroom although some larger rooms are also available for two or more students. Students travelling to Palma with friends or family can therefore request to share a bedroom in an apartment.

  • Apart from a bed/s each bedroom also contains a desk and at least one wardrobe
  • Each apartment also has a kitchen, bathroom and living room which students share
  • These apartments are fully furnished and facilities include a washing machine and TV. Some apartments also have  telephones, but these are programmed to accept incoming calls only
  • Students are provided with sheets, blankets and towels,  but they should bring their own beach towels. The apartments are serviced weekly

Activities: Learn to speak Spanish and have fun!

We will be here to help and support you before your arrival and during your stay until you return home. Make friends, practise your Spanish, and visit Palma’s iconic locations and hidden gems!

Learn more Spanish!
The school organises a varied programme of social activities for our Spanish students. These include a welcome cocktail, visits  and excursions to places of interest in and around Palma, films in Spanish, and exchange evenings at which students can meet and talk with some of our other students who are learning English or German in the school.
We also take students out in the evening to experience some of Palma's unforgettable nightlife. Most of these activities are included in the course fee.
We also organise excursions to towns and places of interest outside Palma. These excursions are organised twice a month  during the summer months and once a month during the rest of the year. Please note that for these full-day excursions outside Palma we charge a supplement of approximately 40 EUR to help pay for the cost of the coach and guide.
